Shower Chairs & Stools

Shower chairs and stools provide a convenient place to rest while showering if standing is difficult . Shower chairs are the same as stools except they have a backrest for additional support and comfort. When buying one, features to look for are:
  • An adjustable height since the standard seat height may be too high or too low to be comfortable
  • Built in handles for ease in lowering, raising, and situating oneself on the seat
  • Legs that have non-skid tips to prevent the chair from sliding in the shower
  • Drainage holes in the backrest and seat to keep water from collecting on the seat, which

could result in mildew and/or mold problems
  • A seat that folds if space for storing the chair is limited in the bathroom
