For years many people have proclaimed the health benefits of vegetarian and vegan diets by pointing to the suspected harmful affects of meats. As with all diets, there are studies that support and disprove claims that vegetarian diets are better than traditional diets. Some point out that by nature, humans are hunters; others point out that meats are high in bad cholesterol.

As with any diet, we believe in moderation and the adaptability of the human body (as well as checking with your doctor before beginning any diet). Provided that you seek out suitable alternative sources for nutrition, a vegetarian or vegan diet can be a good way to avoid excessive intake of harmful foods and to manage your overall calorie intake.
