Aluminum Fences
Much of the contemporary metal fencing found
in the US is aluminum fencing, made from
flattened aluminum tubing, but the ultimate
appearance is quite broad. Aluminum fences
are available in a variety of picket grades,
heights, colors and styles. Standard styles
can be modified by the addition of decorative
aluminum castings such as rings, finials,
ball caps, scrolls, and initials.
Aluminum has become a preferred choice because
it will not rust (important consideration
if you are fencing around a pool or other
areas where rust will stain concrete). If
treated with a powder coat, aluminum fencing
will retain its finish for many years. For
these reasons, an aluminum fence is virtually
maintenance free.
Although traditionally, aluminum
fences have
not been as strong as steel fences,
some
premium brands now claim comparable
strength
through special alloy mixtures. |
