Nitroglycerin Holders

If you have been prescribed nitroglycerin (nitro) pills by your doctor for angina (chest discomfort) you probably keep them in the prescription bottle on the window sill in the kitchen so you don't have to waste time looking all over the house if you experience chest pain. But exposure to sunlight ruins nitro and renders it ineffective.

When looking for a place to store your pills, use a light-blocking nitro case or pill box that is also airtight and secure. The seal protects the pill from degrading from exposure to moisture. The pills should be kept in a secure location out of the reach of the young and of pets since even touching a nitro pill can transfer the medicine into the body.

Key Chain Holders and Jewelry Cases

A clever idea is to keep some of your nitro handy either in a key chain holder or in a pendant around your neck. This keeps your nitro pills right where you can get them when you need them.

Some holders are quite fashionable with brushed gold or silver so they don't advertising your need for nitro. Since your doctor probably

instructed you to take no more than three nitro pills in a sequence, the holders are small (for just a few pills) allowing you to keep the remaining pills safely tucked away out of sunlight and harm's way in their prescription bottle.
